The Fund is established in memory of Barney Wilson Hendricks, Jr. by his family. Cochran and Middle Georgia College were a major part of his life. He was a lifelong resident of Cochran.
After graduating from Cochran High School in 1942, he attended Middle Georgia College (MGC). He started MGC in 1942 and left in 1943 to serve in WWII. After the war, he returned to MGC in 1946. He graduated in 1947 and then attended the University of Georgia, earning a BBA degree in 1949. He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honorary business fraternity. Years later he would return to MGC as Director of Personnel and Financial Aid. He retired from Middle Georgia College in 1990 but continued to support the college serving as President of the Alumni Association in 1947-48 and 1969-70 and as a volunteer as the college transitioned to a university. He was recognized as Trustee Emeritus of the University in 2015.
